Hi people regged @ nvnews :D Greetz

I have recently bought a BFG7800GTX Via eBay... (Was that the correct thing to do??? No idea yet)

Anyhooo I received the nice lil package a few days back and installed the card... which came with a Fatality Zalman cooler...

So I installed the card and... erm it don't work...

Previous set up was 2x7600GS in SLi worked fine but I cant seem to boot on the 1 GTX

My current build is

1GB Ram
Asus a8nDeluxe SLi* eek

Problem im getting is that the card itself does not display xvga I think im right when I say that... you can veiw the boot up logo/bios info but when it comes to windows... poof.. nothing.. only slashed / hacked windows logo any guesses?

The Cards...
MOBO... I am using the BLUE slot
Maplins New Cable
Cable is connected and fits perfect...
Boot up video... exaclty my issue

did you uninstall your video drivers before installing the card?

I have installed the latest drivers for nVidia cards... I always keep'em upto date... + tried the uninstall and poped in the card.. Nothing..

PS thnx for the fast reply :D

damn! usually the uninstall of video drivers does the trick... hmm, do you maybe need to fiddle with your BIOS? I notice you had SLI before, with my motherboard I know I have to change some settings in BIOS in order to enable SLI, so I guess I would have to disable those settings when going back to single card...maybe it's the same for you?

PS: I watched your video, the shakey camera work made me sick! lol

Do appologise :D Yep flashed the bios and flipped the DUAL VIDEO CARD to Single... Im honestly stuck with what else to try.... Ill re-uninstall the drivers... and re try :D only thing I can think off.. and ill make acouple a vids.. :S maybe more visual things can help *holding off the shakyness*

PS im actually using a 7600GS on its own... so I know it works alone Think it could be a dodgey card?

Yeah, make sure you have no nvidia video drivers installed, put in the 7800, then try to boot up and hopefully you'll get to your windows log on where you can then re-install the drivers. I'd hate to say if your card is bad or not, personally nothing screws my day more than faulty hardware, so I'd hate to do the same to you! :D that windows logo screen looks really messed up though, but it displays your mobo and bios boot up screens just fine, so I don't understand why it wouldn't be able to at least display windows properly.

hehe yay :D

after finnaly adjusting somthing correctly I managed to get my card working :D

Turns out this 7800GTX Does not like the PEG link to even be enabled never mind it actually being used!

So there you go folks.... Trial and error really works :D
