It doesn't matter what i try, TrSSAA, TrMSAA, or Tr off, Oblivion looks and performs the same. So is Tr AA not working or is it always on?

I've tried various drivers but no difference. Is it me or? :)

(btw, HDR+ normal AA works, i mean specific the Transparancy AA part)

Can you upload a save point or at least a screenshot of the area you're testing. I'll try to check the same area.

Okay, I'm pretty sure it's working for me although I did get a slightly higher framerate when TAA:MS was enabled versus TAA off. With TAA:SS on, the framerate hit is more obvious. You can also see the changes on the leaves.

You'll need to compare them full-size though (most likely).

Or you can try these cropped sections and just use the windows image viewer to quickly go through them.

What settings are you using in the control panel? Set AA mode to Override any application setting.

Yeah, AA it set to override and then I just set whatever I want for TAA.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought TRAA was for antialiasing the edges of semi transparent textures on a single flat poly (basically 2D antialiasing). Like a wicker/chain-link fence or 1 poly grass. I assumed that the tree leaves are not created using this method. I could be wrong though.

Someone here will correct me it that's wrong.

I wasn't sure and that's why I asked for a save point or screenshot of where he was checking. I know it has been used for grass and the like though and the tree leaves were readily available at my last save point. I can definitely see differences in the leaves when changing the from No TAA to TAA:MS to TAA:SS. You should be able to see it in the pics I posted.

Great, will try that tonight.

Curious with 16x AA/AF and TAAMS what sort of frame rate you getting at what resolution.

With a single 8800GTX it is only just playable.

I would suggest not using TA:SS with a single card. I was using TA:MS (4xAA / 8xAA) and was getting 80 - 90 outdoors in heavy grass last night.

You really have to look at some leaves to see it. Moving I can imagined it would be hard to really notice if it's on or not.

See, I thought so but a guy earlier questioned whether it would get applied to leaves. I was sure I saw it being applied in my screenshots though.

What resolution do you play at?

I can't even turn AA on @ 2560x1600 really. I do 0xAA and 4xAF

Since getting my 30" Dell I havnt run Oblivion yet.. used to run at 1600x1200 on my old monitor and would get around 50-80 outside but dipping to 30 in some areas. Inside was obviously alot higher.
I imagine at 2560x1600 would be fair bit lower :(

Thats why I stuck with an LCD at 1280x1024 - I wanted to be able to max my details and game at some decent framerates. Also, I tried widescreen gaming and found having to edit ini's and edit startup up shortcuts to be a nuisance, sold the Dell and went back to my 2ms 19" LCD.
