I have found that 1152x864 is the resolution that fits me best (not to small font, and web pages fit the width even with a bookmark bar open)

My current Ti-4200 support 1024x768, 1152x864 and 1280x1024 in analog output BUT in digital (DVI) I can only select 1024x768 and 1280x1024

Why is there no support for 1152x864 with digital DVI?
Is this a limitation of the card, the DVI standard or the monitor .INF

And what resolutions does new cards (like the 7600GS and 7600GT) support? There is no list over supported resolutions anywhere :-(

Do they still support 1152x865 analog? And what about digital DVI?

you cant add a custom resolution in the control panel?

Is that possible? How?

I have edited refresh rates before (in the monitors .inf file :-)

But I do have 1152x864 today in analog (only not in digital DVI).

What I am worried about is if a new 7600 card won't have it at all
(and I saw somewhere that new cards have poor analog image quality)

go to the nv control panel.
then click the screen resolutions and refresh rates tab
then theres a button towards the bottom that says add
click that to add your custom resolution.

I don't have that. Maybe my drivers are to old. Or must I switch it on somewhere (I now there are hidden CPs that can be enabled).

Also... On TV output I can not set higher than 1024x768, is that normal (it's a problem when you use 1152x864 or 1280x1024 and would clone the output)

hmmm. make sure you update to the latest drivers.
also, are u using the old control panel or new one? Im forcing it to the old one and the custom resolutions come up that way. im using 92.91 drivers right now.

I definitly use the old one (version 45.23).
Had so much trouble the last time I tried to update.
New drivers don't seem to like my old Ti-4200 card.

You mean the new card can let you choose any resolution?

Does that work on DVI as well, or only on analog output?

well im on a 7900 GTO using DVI cable and it lets me choose custom resolutions. Im not sure whats the newest driver you can use with a TI-4200, thats a pretty old card.
