View Full Version : Get 640x480 resolution & 16 colors if KVM is not on for Windows XP's boot up.

Odd. I never had this problems before my EVGA GeForce 7950 GT KO (512 MB; PCIE) card, NVIDIA driver v93.71, and other hardware upgrade (doubt motherboard, CPU, etc. would cause that).

I have two desktop computers hooked up to my old Belkin OmniCube 2-port KVM (PS/2, keyboard, and VGA connections). I noticed if I boot up Windows XP Pro. SP2 (all updates) and my KVM is not set to that computer, then my Windows boot up with 640x480 resolution with 16 colors. If I leave the KVM onto the computer with Windows XP, then I will get the correct display (1152x864, 32-bit colors, etc.).

Any ideas on why this is happening? Thank you in advance. :)

OK, I think I fixed this problem. It looked like the driver I was using was crap (buggy). I tried an older (92.91 beta) and a newer beta driver (93.81). Both worked. For now, I will use 93.81 beta.
