In playing fast FPS games I have tried all the new microsoft Optical cordless mouses and the older Logitech Optical cordless mouses and they all had pauses in playing a fast action game and I would always go back to my cordless logitech mouseman with the ball because I could'nt stand them little pauses,But the new MX700 Logitech optical cordless mouse has fixed all the problems,It works perfect no more pauses, and now I don't have to mess with cleaning that mouse ball, plus it has a rechargeable mousestand ,so you don't have to mess with changeing batteries.

Good to see another happy user :D I might consider buying one, if my Intellimouse Explorer ever dies ;)

I love my MX700, only saw the red light twice and thats usually on the 3rd day if I forget to charge it.. you can even nurse that, charging it for about 30 min gets you awhile.

I need a better mousepad, this thing is mainly black (verizon dsl freebie).. I believe in using pads for one main reason, you don't destory the gliding pads for a very long time heh...

I had a nice '3M' mousepad, but it was designed for traction, and the pattern of the material seemed to cause problems with my older opticals, I guess semi-clear plastic grooves they don't like.

MX700 is a little heafty, but you get used to it within a day or so.

I'm a recent MX700 convert myself. I'm really starting to like it. Only thing is, though, this mouse is not entirely conducive to twitch gaming. Because it's so heavy, it sometimes feels slow to react and during FPS and 3rd person games I can't turn around as quickly as I would like (in comparison to corded mice I've used). I'm sure I'll get used to it as I use it more, though.

Add another pansy to the list then! :D

I love my MX700, but just like saturnotaku I find the weight to be a bit of a pain in my UT2003 games. I still use it from time to time, but as a backup I have my Logitech Dual Optical corded connected to a USB port too (for when someone so much better than me is on a server that I need every edge I can give myself, ;)).

Believe it or not, both mice coexist peacefully, and there's nada changes needed to any software to swap between them. The Logitech software lets me set them up individually, and since I normally bind all the buttons they have in common to the same functions, those buttons work exactly the same in my game. Of course, I lose the extra buttons of the MX700 when I am using the DO, but then again, when I find myself needing to use the DO, there's usually less time to think about using anything beyond regular weaponswitch/fire/alt-fire and dodge! :D

If you don't want to lose the extra buttons of your MX700, pick up an MX500 next time they're on sale. Then you can really get the best of both worlds. :D

I almost said the same thing but I was trying to be nice :D

Yea sat it took me a little bit but I got used to it. My brother on the other hand is content with using the mx700 I gave him in everything but cstrike. Which he insist on using his Wheel Mouse Optical, both of which coexist w/o conflicts.

btw, Baron arent you long over due for some |JuiceZ| ownage? :rw: Those -=SSP=- srv's stay pretty full and I just for the life of me cannot get used to low-grav, I hate it....

Meh, give me a ring on AIM sometime. Could probably let you in when we do a practice sometime just so you can get demolished by me in Skyline (yes, I scored 6 times in a clan match last night where we won 70-7. :D )

dang you guys are making me more and more want that mouse. I was originally going for an mx500 as the only difference was that it was corded and th other isn't. at least that's what i remember and that the mx300 is the one that has the few buttons with it

I just got my mx500 today and I absolutely love it. Wonderful.

Glad you like it mreman4k.

VeritechK7, unless you really want the greater weight, you're probably better off with the MX500 anyhow, especially if you'v been using a corded optical for very long. The biggest thing I've had to adjust to with the MX700 is the weight.

I'm guessing it weighs something because of the batteries?

you can remove the weight on the mx700 to make it noticably less heavy

I, myself, love the wieght. Those intellemice feel like cheap little pieces of junk. My mx700 is nice and sturdy feeling. Plus it has nifty seamless buttons, who doesn't like those?

on the MX700? i know you can remove the weight on the MX500. but i thought most of the weight on the MX700 was from the batteries.

the more i think about it, the more i'm sure the MX700 doesn't have a weight. one of my friends who owns one heard it did, so he opened it up to take it out.....only to find that it didn't have one. unless he's lying just so i have to live with the extra weight ;)

Nope. The MX700 doesn't have an added weight. It is definitely the batteries (as well as the extra electronic components for RF operation) that make it heavier than its regular corded brethren. Still an excellent mouse, just heavier than most corded mice. (I think one of the original MS corded mice might have been almost as heavy, but it's been a few years since I've used one, so I can't say for sure.)
