No doubt i will be getting Vista in 2007, but it is just a matter of getting solid driver releases for my x-fi, logitech G5, and x1950pro

The Ford "sync" thing sounds really cool.

Wow, the kitchen / bedroom demo was cool also. I wonder how far off that technology is?

translation NEVER

vista will be slower then XP in games (on same hardware)

XP was slightly slower then 2000 (on same hardware)

2000 was slower then 98 (on same hardware)

2000 (much like it's NT 4.0 father) was a very business oriented OS while it had the capability to do 3D it was not necessarily the biggest selling point. Once driver programming matured for this OS and proper tweaking was applied it ran just as fast if not faster than 98.

Enter XP, the 'ME' of the NT Kernels, but with many new features, once again driver makers had to take a step back and cleanup their code and proper tweaking provided on-par results with 2k.

Enter Vista, a completely new Kernel designed from it's base to support 3D applications, but at the same time containing much more 'bulkware'. Once again proper tweaking as well as mature drivers will probably make this another step in the gaming experience.
