This is worse then 4x4, at least you can use regular ram on the amd system, here you need fb-dimms.
I wonder what this server board will cost.

It didn't take long to go from 2 to four.

They could go four to twelve in 3 months if they wanted to, its just not practical at all. I mean think about it, what desktop application out there makes heavy usage of 12 simultaneous threads?

Is Intel aiming this at enthusiasts/gamers? The FB-Dimms dont look attractive at all. However the 8800GTX and the advertised 3Dmark CPU score seem to say otherwise. Or is this just a "cuz we can" type thing against AMD?

Apparantly Intel can't and AMD will be gaming King when Barcelona comes out..
