Hi guys, i'm currently setting up my system, but i don't manage to get the motherboard driver (http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_nforce_amd64_1.0-0310.html) installed.

All onboard devices are not identified ( Sound, Gbit Lan, Wlan etc. )

Thanks for ure help :)
(would be great if sbdy tell me the right commands, Im pretty new to whole linux)


My Sytem:
Amd Athlon 4.2Ghz Dual Core 64bit
1GB Dualchannel RAM 800Mhz (2x512MB)
Asus M2N DH
Asus Geforce 7600 Silent Pro
500GB + 300GB

Ubuntu 6.10 (32bit)

i think i got the right driver for my chipset but i haven't found any tutorial how to install drivers on linux ubuntu 6.10

The original driver package that you referenced is no longer supported, and hasn't been recommended for quite some time.

Look there (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=309691&page=2).

Install your system, compile your kernel in console, install it and then install the nvidia video driver.
I can send you my own *.deb for the kernel 2.6.19-1 and its headers.
