When you order the upgrade you have to enter the bar code number on the COA of a new copy of windows. (I assume this is just to prove you have a real copy)
When I get the upgrade I want to install it permanently on a different computer because the computer using the product key of the new windows disc won't run vista.
Does anyone know if the COA number (barcode) is related in anyway to the product key on the COA? All I've found is it's for tracking purposes..whatever that means. If they restrict the upgrade on the basis of the COA bar code # (not product key) then my "upgrade" will be useless.
