I've got my BFG8800 GTS running stable at 575MHz core and 1700MHz memory. I'm hesitant to go much higher, and the card is extremely fast. I'm using the stock cooler as well. How high can you get your card. I'm guessing that my card would go a little higher, but I really don't know the "ceiling" for a GTS.

3DMark '06 = 9327

3DMark '05 = 15423

3DMark '03 = 27994

I got bfg 8800 GTS running at 625 Core and 1850 Memory.
10359 3dmark 06.

Idle around 50-53c. Haven't passed 63c while gaming yet.

I can push it a bit further maby. I benchmarked at 650/1900 and some games ran fine. But one game gave me a bunch of graphical errors. And I am just to lazy to figure out if it was the core/ram or a fluke.
I do know with benchmarking any higher than 1900 ram gave me lockups.

Wooah! I wish mine could go that high! I can give it a try anyway.

24/7 stable

Tweaked BFG GTS Bios Version 60.80.06.00.04 (http://s162099511.onlinehome.us/Files/tweaked.rom)

it will bench stable up to 630 1900 but i would get corruption in long game sessions.

at 620/1800 it will run forever.

Core at 625 and memory at 1950 for daily use. I can run the core to 635 and the mem to 2000, but I really don't want to for daily use. It was stable there so I backed it down a notch for safety.

662 core, not a single Mhz higher. 2 Ghz on the memory. Games for hours and 3dmark loops for days!! ;)

I run 650/2Ghz 24/7 though. EVGA is a great overclocker!

I've got mine up to 600MHz core and 1800MHz memory. I don't want to take a chance of going any higher. I'm getting great performance already!!!

Mine is a BioStar 8800GTS, I got it at GTX clocks right now. (575/900)

Working beautifully at those clocks for around 2 months now, temps never go higher than 65C's, with stock cooler.

I also use no additional case fans or blowers. I prefer quiet.

I haven't found the limit for my Ram yet. I stopped ATI Tool at 1150 because I was too chicken to let it go until it started to artifact (I did that with the 7900 GT I had and then the card died soon after - but the 7900s had some problems).
Riva tuner passes with any setting until 640 on the core.
The highest loop of 3dMark I did was at:
640/1130
I usually play games at:
620/1000
(just to be safe).

I did play a couple hours of BF2 at the 640/1130 speed and it was fine.

Is there a program we can use for the 8800s that tests for artifacts and actually stops when it finds one (like ATiTool)?
With Nvidia being by far the most popularchip maker, you would think somone would have come up with something at least as good as what people have made for ATI.
Also, Rivatuner used to be the best tweaker ever made for any card until ATI Tray Tools came out for ATIs. Now Rivatuner is no more. I wonder why there isn't a tool that rivals ATI TT for the nvidia cards. NV Tray Tools, Rivatuner, and Nhancer don't even come close to the ATI option.

What's been tweaked in the Bios?

core, shader and memory clocks. nothing fancy.

its 2 revisions newer than what shipped with mine as well. (launch day purchase)

So it really doesn't add to performance?

it does a little, besides the overclock, the newer bios is about 1% faster.

main benefit it has is that got rid of that "must boot to vga before dvi" thing.

after i flashed to the newer bios i can use DVI as primary.

i just hate using software to OC, thought someone else might benefit from a bios level OC.

Mines is version 60.80.06.00.04 which is what it came with......so I guess the same then apart from clock tweaks? :)

My bios on my EVGA 8800GTS is 60.80.06.00.12 so is this a newer bios or the older one.

.12 and .b1 bios seem to be EVGA specific.

they wont post on BFG cards.

/blah.

Mine is still running at 600/1800 with no problems. I'm getting near-GTX performance now.

I had a couple GTS's that did around 650-670 average. But the last one did 690 on air and max out at 712 on stock air cooler and volt. It had bios 60.80.07.00.10 (black pcb)
