And one that I just took delivery of today. The old IBM buckling-spring style. The particular clicking these keyboards make is so intoxicating. Brings me back to the days when my dad would babysit me by bringing me to his office on Saturdays, and he would let me play with a spare IBM workstation they had. Good times. :D

They don't make keyboards like this any more. This sucker weighs in at 6 lb. Even though I have to have part of it resting on my mouse pad, it's so sturdy that it would take a gale-force wind to knock it off the desk. :D

I bought it from www.clickykeyboards.com. I could have gone to Fleabay for a lot less money, but that site has a good reputation (you can see how many keyboards they've sold out). The cleaning job they did was remarkable. Aside from a couple small dings on the side, which must have come from the keyboard's previous owner, you would think it was brand new. It was pricey, but sometimes you have to spend a little to gain some peace of mind.

Ahhh IBM Model M keyboard, I used that at college and same model for my first VTech PC in 1994, the keyboard was bloody too heavy around 2KG weight, you wouldn't able to pick up the long heavy keyboard with 1 hand, it needed 2 hands to do it. :D

Those keyboards are awesome. Too bad we now have chincy plastic clips or rubber membranes instead of metal springs like the M.

I've also thought about getting a CVT someday but man are they pricey.

Oh yea, that KB is far from old though, I see a ps/2 connector. Where the heck is the Din? I threw away all of those POSes a long ass time ago. My cousin likes those the sturdy feeling of em, but try listening to someone typing at 90wpm on one of those!

Same here for me,as I have had surgery for carpal tunnel once, and that was enough.MS Wave 4000 and lovin it.I had to stop using computers all together
for a good year after the surgery, even with the wrist strap I had to wear.It was pain beyond your worst nightmares :( I Worked in a call centre for a
few big ISP's (RoadRunner,Convergys,Rogers, etc) Killed the tendons in my wrists.

THAT was the idea behind it, it was meant for the supervisor to be able to hear the secretary typing instead of painting her nails. We had the exact same keyboard in my dad's office, and yes, it was very annoying, more than a typewriter actually.

We had a bunch of those at the shop where I used to work.

They are massive and make a ton of noise but they are reliable... thats about as much as I can say about them. I wouldn't use one unless I really really really had to. :p

Last time I checked they we're still around, so If my wife didn't throw them out when we moved I'll pull my old Atari 800xl and Commodore 64 out of the basement and see if I can get some picks up lol. I don't even remember what the keyboards were like anymore.

Thats really cute :D

I myself have been gaming on a Chicony KB-2966 which looks really similar/same style and layout.

Its an amazing keyboard and i love it. Been with me for 7 years now, and is still my #1 for FPS Gaming or any other gaming for that fact, guess im too used to it. (lee63)

I have this massive PC XT keyboard which is not compatible with today's computers, unfortunately. It this extra area on the end for a touchpad type thing for lotus or something. That site has an adapter, but its $95 :retard:
