Is anyone else having problems with this driver and 3DMark?
I'm getting less than half the score in 3DMark05 and 06 compared to the previous 97.02 driver, all setings are exactly the same.

No problems here, still getting around 14.5k in 3dMark05 and 9.8k in 3dMark 06.

Strange, went back to the 97.02 driver and now the 3DMark is still less than half of what it used to be, this has got me stumped.

97.02
3DMark05 17420
3DMark06 10929

97.92
3DMark05 8040
3DMark06 3870

They fixed the &apply button in the control panel from the beta version of this driver. Flatpanel scaling is still stuck on nvidia scaling on my computer with this driver.

Hmm,

Looks like u maybe have a problem of clock frequencies who have been

Unofficial = beta! lol

The one that was posted a few days ago had a bug where it said &apply in the control panel instead of apply on the apply button. So they've changed something before it was officially released.

omfg how i hate noobs

do you even know how WHQL works?

if they would change a single file, they would have to submit the file to MS for re-check, which is another few thousand dollars and another few weeks before it gets the stamp (WHQL)

and here is the picture, of what you call "beta"

notice what it says?? its apply

like i said, nothing has been changed

nVidia really needs to fix this bug... A large percentage of the people who buy a 8800 will have big widescreen LCDs. I am still stuck on 96.89 because it is the only driver for the 8800 where the scaling options work.

Just curious which scaling method you guys recommend for a 24" lcd?

Just for craps and giggles I tried installing a set of these drivers for Vista with my 8880 gtx by using "WinXP SP2 compatability mode" and it installs but blue screens when using any 3D accelerated program. O.K. I know I was bored and desperate...

I would use centred output, or let the monitor scale the image. Nvidia scaling usually isn't very good (that's been my experience though - maybe other people have had a different experience).

On centred output, whenever video or a game switches to a resolution lowever than your lcd's native resolution, you will see black bars around the image.

With monitor scaling, the monitor will scale lower resolutions so that they fill the screen. You'll have to try out both to see which you prefer.

Well because it fixes the corruption issues with Halo and Oblivion....and no, not everyone is using a widescreen LCD :p

Oh yes thats a very mature. Notice when I joined these forums? Get the facts straight before you run off spouting crap. I've been dealing with Nvidia hardware since the TNT graphiccards where "hot". How do you even know if these drivers haven't been resubmitted for whql certification? A few thousand dollars for a company like Nvidia? Come on! Foot meet mouth. :thumbdwn:

What I know for sure is that I've installed the "beta" driver on four different computers with completely different setups and all four had the &apply bug. Once I installed the official release instead it magically disappeared. It's nice to see that you don't have that problem, but that is no reason to act like a complete jerk in the process.

But anyway that is just a minor bug anyway. The bug that IS annoying me is the flatpanel scaling or should I say lack of.
