Nope, admins wont get involved. Trust me, they already know about it. I'm just stating a point with evidence.

I'm not sure if you mean evidence about Beckham or UDawg flaming you, but you haven't said anything of proof about Beckham's ability. You couldn't possibly anyway, because its a matter of opinion.

IMO I don't think you know as much about football (soccer, whatever you want to call it!) as you think you do.

Firstly, and this isn't any kind of attack on you, I doubt you would have been any where near as good as Beckham is even if you had played everyday of your life from the age of 2. Football requires a lot of practice and training, which Beckham has proven to put in all his career, but its also a lot of natural ability.

Secondly, do you actually watch football week-in week-out? Because unless you've watched Beckham play a few games (I mean at least 10) this season and last, then you don't know enough of his game. I bet when Beckham gets out there he'll show some of those MLS players a thing or two about professional football in the Premiership and in La Liga (this is no attack on the MLS, but they've not yet reached the levels of European football).

He is supremely fit. Back at Man Utd he was rated the fittest among all players. There was some rumour going around that he could play a match for Man Utd and complete a full bleep test afterwards or something like that. Now that is impressive... Even now, he chases and runs for the entire game, closing down players and getting back to help out the right back in defense. Just look at the praise he gets from colleagues at Real Madrid now. They are always talking about Beckham's impressive work rate in training and in matches. He never gives up and is always looking to improve his game or find out why certain parts of his game have delined. His captaincy for England was never questioned. He motivated the team leading by example. He worked hard in every game he played, and the rest of the team would be spurred on to put in that extra yard of effort as well. That might sound ridiculous, but anyone who's watched England when Beckham has been in that never-surrender mood, which he often was, played much more cohesively and with much more intensity than when he does not play at all.

His ability on the ball is still very strong. When he recieves the ball, he rarely gives it away. He's never had the Ronalinho or C.Ronaldo ability to go past people on the wing, but he can pick up the ball, find some space and either put in a good short pass or a fantastic cross in that NO ONE and I mean NO ONE else in the world can emulate. His vision for placing the ball exactly where the striker wants it without the defender being able to intercept is quite unparalelled(sp?).

Dead ball situations. Okay, you could say this is similar to his crossing/passing ability, but I would say it is different because with free kicks he is able to go all over the pitch and play in a killer ball. From closer range, he is able to shoot the unsavable. When he gets it right (and he does often enough to make a difference), not a keeper in the world is able to save it. He has beaten the best of the best with it and with more regularity than most of the other best 'freekick specialists'.

Now, he does have negatives. He's not fast. Not at all. He really can't take a defender on and run past him cutting in to the box. Its very unlikely he will be able to do that even in the MLS. In fact as he's aged its only got worse. He's much more muscular than he used to be (probably due to the aesthetic beauty of being ripped and this allowing him to be idolised even more by fans) and this has not had a positive effect on his acceleration and overall speed.

He doesn't have quick feet. He's not going to be able to hold on to the ball with two defenders surrounding him by doing tricks and holding them off until he turns, finds space and lays the ball off.

If he's injured it takes a long time for him to get back to his best. They used to say he was a quick healer, but I don't think that is true anymore. He needs to be involved in regular football and training to reach his potential. He's not played much this season because Capello, the Real manager, does not think much of him, and when he has played it is obvious that he is lacking in match practice. I don't think much of Capello to be honest, and neither do many Real fans anymore, so this doesn't mean much to me. I don't think Steve McLaren dropped him from the England team because he is not good enough, but rather because he wasn't playing enough at Real and because he thought it was time for a change with so many promising young players in the England setup.

Anyway, thats it. Now tell me why you think Beckham 'sucks'? Not the best player in the world, yes true. Not really worth $1 million dollars per week, yes true. Has no ability, thats bulls**t. Can't compete with some players who play in a much less competitive league, thats bulls**t too. He has the ability to improve the MLS no-end. I don't know who the captain at Galaxy is (is it Landon Donovan???), but I bet Beckham is as much an influence on the field as he is, if not considered more greatly.

Of course they won't. This is small potatoes.

BTW I used to be a mod her and they are mods, not admins. They have nothing to do with the server.

A player is worth what ever a team is willing to pay. If that player fills the seats then he is worth every penny even if his skills have declined, because the game is about ticket sales, period.is he going to sell $50 million worth of tickets each year? is MLS going to get a big TV contract because of him? is MLS going to structure an ad campaign based on it's new superstar? how will this impact sales of jerseys and other paraphernalia?

good on Beckham in convincing a team that he's worth $250 mill (as an athlete, it's his job to get as much money as possible in return for his skills, so he is "worth" whatever some dumb GM will over-pay to get him). the LA Galaxy just have to hope that Becks, in his first game, doesn't jog onto the field and pull a hamstring. :)

Beckham wants out of Madrid sooner so he can join his new team at the start of the season: http://www.tsn.ca/soccer/news_story/?ID=192312&hubname=soccer

No, he won't sell 50 million worth of tickets. Most Americans don't know who he is. At the same time he is trying to do what Pele tried to do at the end of his career. Make soccer a more popular sport in the states.

You wrote wayy too much for me to even to bother to read. Bit from what i read all i have to say is that im not really argueing the level of his play but rather the level of his play proportionate to his pay and he sucks for what 50million demands. Thats all. Oh, and fitness doesnt mean you;re GOOD(but he is a decent midfielder and a good deadballer.

You said Beckham 'sucks'. Now you're saying he's a decent midfielder and deadballer!? That was all I was referring to. You said he sucks and I said he doesn't suck - he might not be the best player in the world but he's still a very good player and will easily be able to compete in the MLS and be a top player in that league.

You'll have to ask LA Galaxy their reasoning for however-million per year he is earning. I don't think it is proportionate to his skill. If they feel over the next five years he alone could turn the MLS and LA Galaxy in to firstly a popular national franchise and then a large global franchise, then it might well be worth it. Beckham is so big over here in Europe, I'm not sure the Americans realise just how big. If he can have anything like the impact he had here on an already very developed sport, I can only speculate on how big he could be in the US.

You can be a good deadballer but it doesnt mean you're a GOOD PLAYER. Oh and if you scroll up mate and read ALL of my comments you would have seen that i said what you said but in alot less words....:D

Im done talking about this because i keep repeating myself.

I'm gonna agree with all the guys here and disagree with RussianHAXOR. Beckham is a good player no matter which way you put it. Not the best in the world, but he is one of the best midfielders in the world.

He was only dropped from the national side as scapegoat for England's demise in the last World cup for the new manager to put the message across that he has balls.

I'm not exactly big on the Beckham fan club wagon, but he does have the sweetest right foot in the game stilll and is easily the best crosser of the ball.

Footy is powered by advertising, sales and marketing and there is no better an icon to do that than David Beckham.

I don't blame him at all, the guy is loaded and I can't think of a better Country in the World to be in if your in that position.

Good luck Dave.

EDIT: ..... Aaron Lennon should claim his place on the right side of Midfield for now though, England lack flair and excitement now.

I have not seen Bekham play since world cup, and some league games, and there (in world cup) he took most of the freekicks and i do believe scored some. Arguing whether he is worth the amount of money he is getting could take a long time, but he is very skillful and a world-class player. Nothing less.

He's raked in a huge sum already on merchandise sales, like shirts with his name on and I heard a rumour that for the first two years whilst in the US, the team will get a percentage from his earnings from any outside advertising deals.

Being a pussy magnet in America aint gonna be easy, I bet his skeletor wife is insecure ....again. LoL

People slate the Beckhams for being stupid, but as marketers go, they're phenomenal.
