I'm OCing a p4 2.6c Northwood,i have it stable at 3ghz with a vcore of 1.56.

I'd like to try and go higher, but i am on a stock Intel HSF.My temps according to Speedfan are hovering around 55C while running Prime95.

I've read that you can get 3.25 on this cpu and thats if you have bad luck in getting a crappy cpu:)

Also the mobo im using is a gigabyte 8IPE100 pro,is there any way that i can diable smart fan,so that my heatsink fan runs wide open?

I know that this all very old stuff, but any help would be great.

thanks

55C is good but you will probably need better cooling to go higher. I use a Thermalright 90C on my 3.4E to go above 3.7. Check your bios on disabling SmartFan.
