Was just wondering if anyone has had much luck streaming HD content to the 360.

I know it supports WMV-HD, but for some reason converting HD .ts files to it causes WME to crash. So that's out the window.

I am considering HD-DVD but unfortunately they still haven't released alot of stuff that I currently have in 1080i .ts , and thought it would be nice to view on the LCD.

Got an old copy of Terminator 2 in WMV-HD that I got off eBay, looks amazing, got it working on the 360 after some messing about.... just wish there would have been more titles in this format.

Try HDTVPump. It's freeware and allows you to stream .ts files to the XBOX:

For streaming other non-WMV file types, check out Transcode 360, also freeware:

Transcode 360 looks horrible, and HDTVPump doesn't seem to support WMP11 and I can't for the life of me work out how to revert back to WMP10. I expected a simple Add/Rem programs uninstall but it fails everytime.... dangit!

Ill try the HDTVtoMPEG > WME methods. Looks like im wasting my time though.

Why the hell can't you stream MPEG2 from XP to 360, it's nuts!

The Media limitations on this thing are a joke, can't believe my 360 gets outdone by my former Xbox1 (RIP) w/ XBMC.

the only thing with xbmc is that HD files are a problem. Xbox 1 doesn't support h264 which is a huge letdown. I'm actually thinking of having my 360 stream all my HD movies off of my comp and have my xbox just stream all the others.

What I do for my HD movies is I use HDTVtoMPEG2 to get the .ts files into .mpg. It's a simple conversion from Transport Stream to Program Stream, the video/audio itself stays the same. Then you do need XP media center to stream it to your 360's media center. For H264's I re-encode them to either VC1 or MPEG2, it's a pain in the ass sometimes, especially syncing the audio, but the quality is on par with HD-DVDs.

Oh well, got the old MCE 2005 PC up and ready, and I can't connect the 360 and PC together. The PC sees the 360 but when trying to run the Extender Pc software it throws up an error after the fecking 8 digit key validate.

Seems that it's a WMP11 issue, and seeing as it's now the standard and forced onto us, I can't even go back to 10. No download for 10 available anywhere that works with MCE 2005. You get the downloadable version, it chucks up an error. GREAT Microsoft.. cheers!

Odd as I thought 10 was included after the Rollup 2 thing, but im showing as 9 ...wTF!

Sounds odd, I'm pretty sure I re-installed extender after getting WMP11 and had no problems..... Not sure why you're getting the error.
