I'm aiming at getting this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16882155009
I'll use that for nothing but bass- i.e. surround sound for my bass. :p Of course, I'd have each channel comming from an equalizer to filter out the highs and mids. That'll put some rumble out. :D :D :D
But that is still some time off. Probably by year's end or early next year I'll pick up one of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16882155007
To power my two 15"s. That's far more power than they need right now (each 15" is rated at 150w continous, 300w peak)- but this summer I'm gonna' add a 10" 400w downfiring sub to sub box. So, it'd the be a 15" and a 10", at 350w combined continous power. :firedevil I'll make good use of the 250w that Monster amp will provide. :D :D :D
Guess I better start saving now. :p

Surround sound bass?? That crazy!
Is it even possible seeing as the LFE is on a separate channel to the rest of the audio?

Technically, if you fed an LFE source into a surround sound reciever, it'd output the bass through the X amount of channels.
With that 8 channel Monster reciever, it isn't surround sound as in Dolby or DTS surround. It is merely 8 stereo channels. This means you can have 8 different speakers producing the bass, surrounding you. Thus, you get the "surround sound bass".
That is what I'd be going for. :p

Ah I see. Quite an interesting project. I'm thankful I'm not your neighbor.

Well, by the time this setup is complete, I hope to be living outside of city limits. So my neighbors wont hear a thing. ;)
Gotta' love that country life. :p

I've had the Sony HT-DDW670 for the last 2.5 years and it's been pretty amazing. It's got killer bass and gets LOUD.

It was $200 and I think it was money well spent. Once I get out of my current place, I'm going to look into getting perhaps an Onkyo or Denon receiver and some really nice speakers to complement my HD-A2 and the HDTV I'm going to buy. :DI have the Sony HT-DDW900 myself. It sounds great over optical with my PS3 and my Toshiba HD-A1, and it was under $400. Can't beat that.

@Redeemed,
If I were you man I would crank my audio setup and leave it at max at all times. :p Just to take advantage of that rural landscape.
@XionX2, we have the same monitor, check it out.
I absolutely hate this monitor. The picture is good, but everytime I unplug my DVI cable, it goes into standby mode. And when I replug the cable back in, it gets no signal. I have to unplug the power cable, press the power button until the internal battery is completely drained, and then hook everything up again.
Thankfully I dont unplug the DVI cable very often. :headexplode:

Why would you need to unplug the DVI cable? I don't have any problems w/ that as I've never unplugged mine.

When taking my rig apart to configure/rewire and such, I have to remove all the cables from the back of it and I take it out onto a table so i can easily work on it.
Ya kno, like putting a new drive in for example. And recently, I have been upgrading like a bitch:
amd -> cd2 first of all
p5b (TWO of them)-> ds3 -> pw5dh -> 680i
7600 -> 7950 -> 8800
new drives,
new psu,
sound card changes
air -> water
etc
And EACH time, the monitor would act up. I know I will be changing my setup again real soon also.
But hey hard work pays off. :captnkill:

Naw, then my lady would be mad at me. :o And if she's mad at me, well, I'd have to go without... stuff that I'd really rather not go without. :( :p

Well yeah, but that doesn't require unplugging the DVI cable from the back of the monitor, does it? Are you talking from the monitor end or the computer end of the cable? I thought you were talking monitor end, because I unplug it from the computer end all the time and it never gives me trouble.

Oh yeah, I dont have to unplug it from the monitor. it still acts up even when detaching it from the video card plug-out.
So youve never had this problem dude? i read the reviews on newegg a while back and it was a VERY common problem. I got it for about $325, so its bearable.... but...
I still want a dell!
