I have an XFX 7800GTX (factory overclocked) @ 475MHz. It idles at an average of 39/40C and max load is about 69/70C. Thats with ambient room temp around 19C (66F).

I want better performance out of my card but I don't know if I can safely OC cause of temps. Can I?

What would be considered a safe load temp? Also without decreasing life span of the card?

Thanks.

Don't worry. The card will start to freak out if you clock it too high, and you don't need to worry about breaking it. You will get artifacts or crashes if you clock it too high.

I will say though that these cards do get HOT!
