God, i swear i have the worst luck with this crappy software firefox.

Now today firefox decided it wanted to delete ALL my bookmarks/favorites for the past 2 years. Does anyone know of any way to get them back? On top of that, now firefox is automatically deleting ALL my history every time I reboot. I am having to relogin to every forum i visit every time i restart my PC. This bloody software has caused me more problems than any peice of software on my entire PC.

Help is appreciated :(

Maybe a 3rd party "optimizing" app is deleting your cache?

Firefox did this to me recently, acted like it had never been installed before. However it left my bookmarks intact. It seems ok now after a few shutdowns and reboots.

An update from me too. While I thought I had my bookmarks. I had in fact lost all my new ones. I could create new ones. To fix this I went into C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles and deleted the current bookmarks.html and replaced it with the older intact bookmarks file from the bookmarksbackups folder. Everything seems ok now.

Tygerwoody, perhaps you could try making a backup of your bookmarkbackups, uninstalling Firefox, deleting the folder i mention above and reinstalling. Sounds like your Firefox profile could be nuked.

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\8n4ck2vp.default\boo kmarkbackups\

They should be there, just click import on the bookmarks thing in firefox.

Mine did it the other day when I had to hit the reset button.

oh, it brings up EVERYTHIGN to show it can add bookmarks, but when it comes to pressing "OK" to adding the bookmark it doesnt do anything. The OK button depresses, but the screen stays up there.
