Installing Kubuntu on asus k8n4 with SATA-HD Fails

Hey together,

just can't install kubuntu (6.10) on my asus k8n4-e with nforce-chipset on my sata-hdd (seagate st3200822as). My harddisk won't get recognized, so the installer offers me a list of available driver modules. i thought sata_nv would do the job, but i was wrong. So, how can i install kubuntu?

According to this (http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=1787), there's an "additional Silicon Image Sil3114 Serial ATA controller on the K8N4-E Deluxe." If your SATA drive is connected to one of that controller's ports, then try the sata_sil driver. sata_nv may also be needed if you have e.g. an optical drive connected to the nForce SATA controller. So, select both just to be sure.
