I installed Windows Vista, activated my copy. I didn't install any sound drivers for Xi-Fi, or video drivers for 8800GTX. I disabled UAC, and Windows Update so stupid Windows doesn't install anything i don't want to be installed especially not some broken drivers. I made a full windows backup...and i will wait now till January 30th. They better have ready drivers by then...

They better fix nTune!!!

I still have a problem with Oblivion with these drivers as it doesn't enable AA+HDR and also big slow downs in the where I seen it run at 2fps. Then sometimes game will stop responding and just exit to the desktop saying Oblivion wasn't responding at all.

I get a weird problem with the text in solitaire and the other free vista card games with these drivers. "Help" text which appears in game is all stretched and incomplete.

Not really the games for which i bought an 8800GTX, but the wife likes them so I thought I would report it!

I have the same problem with Oblivion. It will run remarkable fast, but performance quickly deteriorates until it's completely unplayable, then it will crash to the desktop. Could be a major memory leak in these drivers still.

Only NWN2 runs decent without graphical bugs or random crashes, well it HAS random crashes, but it always did. :)

Anyway, I'm really hoping for an official driver in the next couple of days. I'd really like to do some gaming soon.

I wonder what that BSOD has to do with the video driver? From what I can see it's a stack overflow error. iow it's a memory fault, not a video driver problem.

What are you going to follow me from thread to thread with this crap? Shut up and get a life.

Nice overclock there. I can't push my E6400 over 2.93Ghz or it refuses to post. Stupid 650i mobo!!!

DarkJedi664, wtf are you bitching about. The guy posts a link regarding NV driver information and you tell him to get a life? Uhh, why? This is a NV forum, and a driver thread. Seems pretty applicable to the topic to me. You just won the "most pointless comment" award. Congratulations, now bug off.

No, he's posting ANY chance he can to bash Vista. We get it, you don't like Vista. ENOUGH already...That's what I'm sick of.

Personally, I like Vista well enough, beyond not having performance drivers for my 8800GTX. I like the new interface and the way everything is organized. But what really sells it to me is that my wife LOVES it. Why? Because she can create and edit my sons entire 1st year home video without the movie editing program crashing a single time. Under XP we tried a half dozen different movie editing programs, including MS Movie Maker. All of them crashed regularily. But Movie Maker under Vista is stable and fast. Sold.

I have these running under Ultimate 64 and they are crappy. As others have reported Oblivion is wacky with the latest build from Nvidia. :(

WoW runs fine if you turn off 8x multisampling, I set it to 4x in the video options. I get about the same performance now in Vista as I would in XP with my 8800gts.

running everything at 1920x1200

Oh my WoW performance is high, but the graphical bugs are extremely irritating. I'll wait until they fix the texture popping.

I recently installed Vista with 100.30 drivers.
However, I run dual monitors and can not locate the Nview Desktop Manager.
I read up and the manual says that it should be in the control panel, I cant find it anywhere.
Was this feature disabled for the beta drivers?
Thanks in advance.

So why dont the 3d effects in vista work properly with this driver? They enabled while playing round with dualview but after a restart there disabled again.. :thumbdwn:

EDIT: nevermind, had to run vista performance thingy again due to hardware change.. Works now.. :)
