well i gave it a shot, had xbox 360 for about 3 weeks now. Its time to return it while i still can. In that 3 weeks time, i used it for about 2-3 hours, maybe 4. PGR3 is fine for a quick race or two, but its just to boring.

media options on 360 are a ****ing joke, i spend more time using the XBMC then 360.

lol you only tried one game? :p
and x360 + transcoder360 = almost the same as xbmc, I never use my old xbox and xbmc after the transcoder360 got released

i'm not gonna use a dedicated computer just to transcode files, my second PC is a dedicated server, i'm not gonna load it up with stupid transcoding, because MS won't support DIVX files.

and i tried more games, demos from xbox live.

well when you are watching a movie then you arent doing anything on the pc so I dont see a problem with using the computer..

Yeah it sucks MS doesnt support divx, xvid and all other formats it would have been much better.

but I dont have a problem with transcoder360 as I am not using the pc when I watch the movie. And if you have dual-core then  :p

i tried alteast half of the demos on xbox live, there was just one demo that was fun to play, and that was Dear or Alive.

its sad that the "best" console and still has pretty much no "good exclusive" titles to play.

and before any one says GoW, thats not my type of game, i preffer FPS

Yeah, if you only played ONE game and are using it more to stream stuff from Windoze, you wasted your money. There are way better games than PGR3 out there . . .

GoW has a hybrid first person/third person gameplay style. As per FPS how about R6:Vegas or Prey. Most FPS games available for the 360 are also available on the PC but with the 360 you won't need a $2500 PC to run a game like R6 well.

Hmmm... then why even bother buying a console then??? Sounds like you're not a big fan of console gaming in general. IMO the 360 has THE BEST analog gamepad available today. If all you want to do is play FPS games with a mouse and keyboard return your 360 and stick to PC gaming. If on the other hand you TRY to get the hang of playing your favorite style games with a gamepad I really believe that you'll have an awesome time.

man if I judged all the platforms I have played on off of one game, I would have been a real sad camper.

To each his own though.

Then return that console and never buy another one ever again. Stick to your PC.

i like FPS, racing, RPG, strategy, fighting, sims, and some tycoon style games.

i bought the 360 main for PGR3, before buying the 360 i played PGR3 few times at friends house, like i said in the first post, its a ok game for quick one or two races, but the game is boring for longer play.

There are no other racing games on 360, ok so there is TDU on 360, well after comparing TDU beta on PC and TDU demo on 360, seeing how much better it looks on PC, there is no point in waisting time on 360 version.

FPS on console are a f-ing joke, so that drops out right away.

RPG, not a single good RPG on 360, Oblivion i can play on PC (not even a real RPG), back to NWN2

Strategy on console, again a joke right?

Fighting, well in those 3 weeks the game(demo) that i played the most would be Dear or Alive, but keeping 360 just for that game, after PGR3 dissapoitment? still not worth it

no sims or tycoon games.

back to the store it goes

just because you are not any good with a controller on a FPS, doesn't mean its not possible, and that they do not exist.

i never said i'm not good, by console standard i'm good, but if you are used to the insane accuracy that you been playing on PC, then there is no comparison.

I have seen people with insane accuracy on a controller, and its just frightening.

basically all i'm hearing is:

a) i want to use a mouse/keyboard for my fps games
b) i want to play "real" rpg games
c) i tried one racing game and now i'm back to pc for that
d) i want rts on a console even though there is no such thing

so why exactly did you buy the 360 again???

six_storm

Yeah, if you bought the 360 just for PGR3, that was a bad mistake. I'm also hearing nothing but preferences for a PC so just stick with that. Take that $400 you spent on the 360 and upgrade for Vista or something lol.

Nekrosoft13,

I'm sorry to hear that you aren't enjoying your recent purchase of your console. I don't have an answer for you, and maybe you should just return the console for your money back, but I really feel that if you just give it a chance and let it grow on you.

Go out and rent a decent console FPS (hell, even try GoW even though you don't like it at this point). It'll take some time to get used to (a week or more), and it'll probably never be the same as a mouse/keyboard. But, I ask you this: if you are having a good time, and everybody else who's playing with/against you are on the same boat, does it really matter if you are "as good" as on the computer? I mean games are all about fun, right? I think it's healthy to engage in unknown territory for many things in life, game genres and platforms included. Bravo to you for trying it out as far as you have!

This also may be a good time to branch out onto other genres that are more prevelant on consoles than PCs...

Good luck!

I can see where you are coming from nekrosoft13. My true love is for PC gaming. Although I must say GRAW (for the 360), Burnout, and GoW are just too fantastic IMO to pass up. I am very glad for the console experience I have been having as of late. But I will never forget PC gaming.

I used to be a hardcore pc gamer, but now with the 360, I have almost given up pc gaming. I love the comfort of lying on the couch and playing on the big screen as opposed to sitting rigid and almost up close to the monitor and playing on the pc. Also the fact that you have to keep spending money constantly to keep playing pc games at the best settings.

If you want to know how much I am enjoying console gaming on the 360, look at my signature. I just downgraded from a 8800 gts because I see no value in it!!!!

I'm someone who will ALWAYS choose PC gaming over consoles, but right now, I feel 360 has a lot more to offer as far as new titles are concerned, RS: Vegas, Gears of War, Madden 2007, Knockout Kings 3....it's ashame your judging the system on one half-assed racing game.

Try a few more titles before you send it back. I mean, you paid $600 for that 8800 GTX and there hasn't been much to come out since that gpu's release, yet you kept the card. If your gonna have such a strong bias, don't bother with a console.

It could be worse, you could have bought a ps3. :thumbdwn: :D

Just curious, does a game have to be exclusive to be good?

I never understood that line of thinking....

Sounds like the PS3 would have been a better choice for you.

As far as racing and RPGs go, PS3 will have the FF series as well as my favorite racing series, Gran Turismo.

Unfortunately, the word is "will" and not "has".

I can understand you Nekro! I rarely ever use the 360 and the only reason why Im keeping it is because Im waiting for Forza 2. Im also considering the HD-DVD drive since its cheap and works on the PC as well, but thats about it. I prefer PC gaming hands down, it has all games I like to play and at least Im using it more than 3h every two weeks.

I'm the exact opposite. A PC game I'm interested in comes out about every 3 years.
