Got one of these bad boys today (nana2)

At 2.5v my memory is as hot as the sun, so I figured I would slap one of these on and keep it running cooler.

Here is the back of the cooler:

I unscrewed the fans and rewired it so it looks cleaner: (lee63)

And finally, the finished product. It fits on, but its a little wobbly, don't think its going to fall off, but it would be nice to see motherboards adopt some universal fan clip for active memory cooling:

Haven't tried for any higher overclocks yet, but I feel better knowing my memory is not burning a hole in my motherboard :D The device actually moves quite a bit of air, and its hard to notice the fan noise over the other fans in my case.

Does it interfere with the video card at all? From the picture I can tell it's really close. I had to remove my Corsair memory airflow fan because of this reason.

Enjoy it. I know that I love mine. :)

I was able to fit mine on tight. I left the top screw a little loose, slid it on, pushed up on the bottom while I tightened the top screw.

It does a great job keeping my G.Skill cool; I'm sure it will yours too. The sticks run really hot without it; I was failing memtest at stock speeds within a few minutes before I put my cooler on. Now I'm stable 100% for hours.

Jakup thats cool man, can you cut in another 80mm fan under the one in the back please, thanks.

Ah! 2.5v 24/7? I'd be worried about the long term health of your memory.

That G.Skill memory that he and I have is made to run at higher voltages. It's rated at 2.3v stock.

Wow that looks sweet.

Nevermind :p trying 1.16GHz now...

You had better pray that board doesn't gobble it up..

I found after buying the Corsair version it dropped the temps on my Memory by a very big margin. For the price of these setups, i'd recommend anyone with overclocked Ram to buy one.

yeah well its either the OCZ, the Corsair, or the watercooled sticks. those are our only choices...

hey jakup, do you know if you can replace the fans? i want one of those but i dont want the lights.

You can replace the fans. But they're wired together with a 3-pin plug that goes on your motherboard. Just keep that in mind.

Whats the grill for ,its hardly a dust filter is it?
Oooh the silver version matches my case ,I want one.

I find corsair Dominator cooler to be the perfect. :D its not that XTC is bad looking its just too big for a RAM cooler

I'd say the grill is for looks and it kinda holds the whole thing together...

Looks pretty good though jAkUp!

Are the fans 50mm or 60mm?

Is there enough clearance to use this on Corsair Dominator moduals?

60mm.

its good value at the listed cfm as well as looking good, was thinking of getting 3x40mm panaflo fans or similar and cable tying them together but this thing has better flow ,or so it says. The grill will only reduce airflow though, mumble mumble. I need to start thinking before I reply to posts,
Is this one old??

Hate to sound like a thread crapper, but isn't a heat spreader enough? *shrug* I've just never had any heat issues with memory myself.

Heat-spreaders most certainly aren't enough with some memory, especially for those water-cooling. My G.Skill, like I said, was getting so hot it would just about burn my fingers off--and it was running at stock speeds. It was also failing memtest within 10 minutes.

And the grill hardly affects airflow at all. When I put my hand behind the cooler I can feel plenty of air rushing through. Believe me, this thing works good.. REAL good. It's dropped my memory temps by at least 20-25C which I never expected to happen.

When you are using 1.45v and up I'd suggest active cooling of some sort. 2.3v and lower doesn't need it unless you have poor air circulation in your rig.

BTW who is currently stocking these coolers?
