Just installed my new "hard to frick'n get" EVGA 8800GTX w/ACS3 cooling and bloody hell its sick sick SICK!!!!!!!! Perhaps one of the best GPUs out there from Nvidia since the Geforce line started. Card is 52-55c idle (haven't determined GPU load temps) while CPU idles @ 39-41c and maxes @ 45c.

I ran 3dmark2006 (v1.2.x I believe) with all tests checked @ 1280x1024 with max AA and AF (driver forced) and got 11,102 score. :D :D

Now.. are there other benchmark apps I can use?

I also noticed some minor artifacting in the smoke from this demo:

Anyone seen minor artifacting? Perhaps its the max AA/AF that is used or driver related. Not my specs below. Just curious what the gracious NV community has to say. Love the card.. Nvidia has truely outdone themselves this time around.

Try turning off AF :D The artifacting is normal when AF is on.

Done! However... strangely I can only top just over 12,000 Score in 3dmark2006 with the recommended defaults. On Futuremarks, they have the world's top rankers hitting just over 16,000. Gather I shouldn't feel so bad - just wish I had the ballz to water/phase cool my CPU/GPU.

Its mostly due to hitting 4GHZ+ on the Quadcore and Overclocking past 626.

The EVGA 8800GTX + ACS3 Cooling Edition is pre-overclocked to 626/1000. I gather I could push it more but some of the values for those 3dmark2006 benchies from the top 20 results don't make sense (8800GTX don't come with 1024 of video ram, Core Clock of 108 MHz, Memory Clock of 337 MHz)??? I don't have valid hardware numbers to compare to to try and push the envelope.

Try overclocking to 648.

I'll give that a shot

Update.. Got the latest RivaTuner (damn nice piece of software).. Configed it for a "dynamic overclock" to go to 659/1013 whenever a 3d game/app was running. So now with all 3d defaults I get ~12,464 score in 3dmark2006. Not much of an increase and nowhere the 16,000+ scores the top world leaders get but then again as you see with my specs its NOT watercooled or SLI'ed. Regardless.. AA/AF are all maxed out now and games I play just run like butter. 8800GTX is beyond a winner! I have noticed VERY MINOR artifacting here and there running @ 659/1013 but its not major. Its easy enough to downclock and lose just 1-2fps so its not a massive deal. Thanks everyone!

3D Mark doesn't get the values right on their site for the 8 series for the vram/gpu.

Yep I noticed that as well but regardless that does not invalidate the 3dmark06 scores.

Real Operating Frequency.

For what device? CPU, GPU, Memory, Bus? Is there an app I can use to take a screencapture or find out what you ask? Thanks RH!

Its the GPU core frequency, ROP is the Core clock. Not the virtual clock. Use riva to see the diff.
