EDIT: since the power supply should probably power my system i am going to try to rma this PSU then sell the one i get returned from the rma. if i am denied an RMA I will assume the psu is still in perfect working order (since i really have no set in stone evidence that it's not doing exactly what it's designed to do).

Just a tip, you may want to just see if you can get it replaced or returned. If it its giving you problems I don't know if anyone will feel comfortable spending $60 on it.

I have the same PSU, it has adjustable pots so if you want you can open it up and fool around with those.

i don't think it does have any problems. i know i might have been able to return it but there's a good chance it would have had the same problems (apparently, my system is 5v heavy and the blue storm isn't so great with 5v but great with 12v -- or so i've heard) -- and in the mean time having to wait with no comp for an rma.

hope this makes sense, i could have just as easily told everyone it was problem free but i wanted them to know what they were up against.

edit: thanks for your replies in trying to help me with it, but i've already dumped $120 on a new PSU

edit2: hah i'm stupid. i just now realized that i can still RMA it. i guess if no one buys it i might try rma-ing it then selling the unopened one
