P4 2.4GHz 533 and 400?

A P4 2.4GHz 533 can also be ran on a motherboard that only supports 400 FSB right? I mean it doesn't *have* to be ran at 533, but can ran at 400. I am sure it can but for some reason the 533 is cheaper than the 400 at most places. My motherboard has the I850 chipset and I have PC800 RDRAM so want to run the 2.4GHz 533 at 400 instead.

if you run a 533FSB P4 at 400MHz FSB, you will effectively be underclocking it. but yes, it can be done.

although you would then be running it somewhere around 1.9GHz, which is quite a big drop from 2.53GHz.
