I noticed this over at newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822136011

$199 (after rebate) looks like a good price for this hard drive. I've had pretty good luck with western digital warranties, but this being an OEM drive, I am trying to figure out if it has a warranty.

I've seen three user reviews on newegg that indicate a warranty, and one review that indicates no warranty. I am trying to find some kind of official word from WD regarding the warranty of OEM raptor x drives. I don't suppose anybody knows where to find this on one of WD's websites?

Any hard drive without a warranty is an absolute no-go.

Any WD OEM drive has at least a 3-year warranty. I think it's 5 for the Raptors.

I have a Raptor X drive, but if I had researched it better I wouldn't have bought it and would have got the non-X drive instead. That clear window makes the drive louder, runs hotter and cuts the MTBF in half compared to the non-X drive.

Oh, I don't care about the window thing (my computer is completely out of sight when I use it actually,) I thought the raptor X is supposed to be faster?

The price is a $10 difference, so I figured any speed gain is probably worth it. But if theres no speed gain at all, then yeah I will go for the non x version as less noise and heat is definitely a good thing.

How do you know this? Is it mentioned on their website somewhere?

The performance specs are the same for both drives. But the noise level:

Raptor X:
Idle: 39 dBA average
Seek: 46 dBA average

Raptor:
Idle: 29 dBA average
Seek: 36 dBA average

I also have a 74 gig Raptor (29 & 36 dBA) in another machine. The raptor X is considerably louder.

It's louder, but if you are able to display it, then it is 100% worth it :D

My case came with a Raptor X HDD bracket just for it, but I couldn't find the harddrive anywhere local or online that ships to my country, so I bought a regular 150GB raptor.

Well, according to this, http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?DriveID=190&Language=en, it has a 5 year limited warranty.

Where about is it displayed?

I have seen some cool mods for the 830 that puts the drive up where the top fan is. Looks pretty schmick.

BTW 6900...

I said 69.

Well that is retail, not OEM.

Still though, the more I look around, the more I see other sources indicating that it includes a 5 year warranty also.

I think I might order this one tomorrow:

Only reluctance is that this is a high price for a 150GB HDD, the big deal here is the speed, and what with HHD's coming out I am weighing whether this is worth the investment.

Yeah, it goes where the top fan frame goes.

I just found a promo code for this which makes it $5 cheaper. That makes a total of $45 worth of discounts, plus free shipping and no tax comes up to about $50 worth. $184.99 total is not a bad price for this at all. I am going to pull the trigger on this one.
