Huge ratings... (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/nfl/specials/playoffs/2006/02/05/bc.fbn.superbowl.rating.ap/index.html).Only the 1996 Super Bowl between Dallas and Pittsburgh, which had 94.1 million viewers, had a bigger audience, according to Nielsen Media Research on Monday. Behind that 1996 game and the M-A-S-H series finale, Sunday's game was the third most-watched program in television history.

Watching in northern Illinois with 15 other people, all die-hard Bears fans, was incredibly awkward once the Colts got to 19 points... :o

Wonder if that has anything to do with HD becoming more popular. Nothing like a high def super bowl game to show off your new set.
There was an awesome turnout for the parade in downtown Indy today. The team held a rally in the RCA dome, speeches, etc. I didn't make it down but one of my co-workers did. People waited outside in 9 degree temps for over two hours (the charter flight was delayed). Indy is just in a frenzy about this. I was at the Pacers/Lakers finals games at Conseco...I thought that brought out a huge reaction during that run, nothing compared to this.

I'm not terribly surprised. There were so many storylines in this game...Manning's first Super Bowl, Good Rex Bad Rex, the Colts defense.
