The below comment taken from betterdan's HD DVD thread. I initially listed both in that thread but I was politely informed that the two formats shouldn't be mixed. Oops...

I thought it would be good to list the Blu-ray discs you have so if anyone was thinking about getting one they could check here and see if someone else owned it and ask how the quality was or anything else.

Thanks...I'm blaming y'all. :p I was going to wait until a single format was decided on but after reading some of y'alls comments, decided to give it a try. Now the ice is broken and I can't stop. I was also not going to buy hi-def versions of movies I already own but heh, that didn't stick either.

I have an HD-DVD player with several HD-DVD's, and I just picked up Kung Fu Hustle on Blu-Ray just to try it out in my PS3. The PQ is incredible and the audio is better than any of the HD-DVD's I own. Here I was slagging Blu-Ray the whole time and the newer titles are on par or better than HD-DVD's.

That's because it has a variable bitrate.

Even the movies listed with their bitrate on the back of the cover have variable bitrates (what is stated is the average bitrate).

I'm not a movie wh0r3 like OWA, but I wouldn't mind getting a few more to see what they look like. If you had to choose a movie that was good in video and audio quality, and the movie itself was decent, what would you pick? I'd like to pick up some more titles, but I don't want to pick a movie up just because it looks and sounds good, but the movie itself sucks.
