Hi,

I am having problems running CAS-2 with my Crucial PC133-CAS2 RAM. Would increasing the Voltage from 3.3v to 3.5 help stability. What does it actually do?

Thanks in advance!

Raising the voltage may can help, try 3.4v before going straight to 3.5v. Your asking more from your ram through raisng the speed up from the stock 133, so raising the voltages is providing more power to the ram, often when overclocking, the two go hand in hand, raise the speeds, you also need to raise the volts :)

Isn't that too risky?? Is the performance gain (if any) worth it?
Will the DIMM lifetime be reduced?

If the RAM is CAS2, it should do it at nominal voltage, AFAI think.

You know, that on new DDR ram like OCZ, Corsair and the likes, somethimes to get those good timings you have to raise the volts to at least 2.5 and sometimes even 2.6. Most things that are in your system, at default, are accually under rated specs ;)

I changed the voltage to v3.5 from v3.3...It made no difference what so ever, the memory still wasn't stable when running CAS2. Think there must be some other options for my mobo to change timings in bios that might be the cause?

Thank you for all the advice so far!
