What for? So far the 768MB ad 640MB on the GTX and GTS is not really utilized yet. What would 4GB accomplish?

Qarl's Texture Pack 3 (in beta) for Oblivion will eat up more than 768MB of memory; I've seen it go over a 1 GB with the Open Cities mod installed. And this is with everything cranked @ 1920x1200. If by some chance the 8900 has 1.5 GB of memory, I'm getting it.

The console commands for get the texture memory usage are "SetDebugText 13" followed by "tdt". The first tells Oblivion what info you want (and a google search will tell you the other options), and this gets written to the .ini file, so you only have to do it once. "tdt" is toggle debug text.

4x7950 GX2s? :wtf:

I wouldn't do it. There is no room left on that mobo for anything.

I'm probably gonna' be sticking with regular two-card SLi for a while. If quad keeps to the path of the GX2 (two cards per PCI-e slot) then I might go quad eventually. But that'd be it.

Sweet Dazz! I've been wondering when someone was finally going to do that. The board is an old prototype by gigabyte, called the quad royal. It was pre quad sli, and was probably just something they were playing with. It has 4 8x slots, so there is no way it would have enough bandwidth to actually run that. It's just cool to see that pic.

I'm still waiting though to see someone take 4 GTX's and daisy chain them, that would look crazy!

They still can't get regular sli to work right{I'm talking consistency without tweaking the hell out of everything} in all games all the time. How stable do you think these will run?? Not to mention heat issues....
