Hi all,

I have an 8800gtx. Does anyone know how I can enable both HDR and Anti-Aliasing on Far Cry?

Many thanks.

You can't unless you use the OLD 1.4 patch, not the new one. I don't have a link, but I'm sure if you Google it, you'll find it.

There's two links I found right off the bat.

Let me know how that works. I'm using the official 1.4 patch and when I did HDR/AA I got really bad geomitry issues (ala r6:Vegas). But this used to work fine with my 6800GT and the 1.33 patch.

I think someone pasted this on this forum, but I don't remember who it was.

I got the Far Cry HDR+AA to work by seeing a tip in the image quality thread.
To get HDR+AA to work in Far Cry 1.4, all I did was leave AA off in-game,
copy the Oblivion AA tweak from the Oblivion profile to the Far Cry profile, type \r_fsaa 2 in console,
set the Nv CP to override (in the Far Cry profile) and in my case I set it to 16xQ AA. Start the game,
enable HDR \r_hdrrendering 1-11 (I usually use 7).

I doesn´t work at all, it has water issues, just try to go to some beach in the game or a lake, when you activate HDR and FSAA at the same times it appears a weird effect (like split screen with corruption)... really weird...

HDR+AA never worked on pre-G8x Nvidia hardware in Far Cry.

Yep, you got that right haha. No big deal to me, I prefer the 4xAA instead of HDR, and quite frankly, even with an overclocked GTS I don't find the performance of farcry that great with both HDR and AA on, especially at high resolutions.

Online play, I turn both off for maximum speed. Far Cry, a fun game still, has some online framerate issues due to ****ty net code. They could have learned something from iD in that respect.

What, you mean like how to cap a game at an annoying 60fps? :thumbdwn: :p

I did not mention Doom3 or Quake4, I was referring to the EXCELLENT net code used in Q3A.
