So I'm not seeing any mention of official Vista drivers here on Vista launch day. Did nVidia not release any?

Cista LOL...

Yeah they've been released under the 8800 section of the driver selection thingy on Nvidias site, they're just official versions of the 100.54 which most people are already running due to the leak a few days ago.

How about Ciesta drivers--since Vista is a waste of $$ for gaming (right now anyways) How about some decent XP drivers? :captnkill:

That's funny, I really meant to type Vista.

So the 100.54 ones blow huh? I've been reading that thread but it's grown much to long for me to keep up.

Guess I need to wait god knows how long to be robbed of $600 for a new DirectX10 card :p

I am in no hurry to feal the pain, so to speak.

I wouldn't say "it's a waste right now"; there are a few games that show a performance increase w/ Vista.

i thought the only reason those games are performing better in vista is beacuse they're all ATI cards

Nah. It's because they're DX9 games.

while i plan too switch over too vista fairly soon, i hope that they dont forget bout the xp users, im worried so much attention has been paid too vista, xp might get lost in the shuffle.

Given the same clock speeds of my 8800GTS, Vista is performing almost IDENTICAL to my XP Pro install.

At least for most 8800 owners, Vista is very impressive at this point.

The way for me has been to create a dual boot. I get to play around with Wista and then boot into XP for games and more serious computing... At some point I suspose Ill end up with only Wista, but not yet.

its great that games on ati cards run faster, when pretty much everything on nvidia card runs slower

had 3 ati cards in a row, now i already had 3 nvidia in a row, maybe its time for another ati? nvidia been slipping with their drivers

^ That's strange. I thought I'd heard from people that NWN2 runs pretty good on Vista.

I agree about the drivers slipping, but I think it's more of a matter of them trying to do so much at once. Brand new graphics card w/ brand new unified architecture / brand new operating system. They're having to program drivers for a brand new arc on two different OS's w/ two versions: 32/64 bit.

ATI's cards have been out for longer; it's an older architecture that's had a lot more time for optimized drivers.

i'm was talking about NWN, not NWN2

NWN is openGL, while NWN2 is DX9

NWN2 runs better then NWN on vista, but NWN2 still runs like ass, compared to XP.

i would say with same excact settings, i lost at least 35-50% of FPS depends on location

A few fps may be worth it to some--AMD/ATI owners, but with us Nvidia owners it's a huge waste right now(No SLI...). If Nvidia would get motivated and create some decent drivers for XP FIRST then drivers for shi#sa that actually perform decent, the switch to ciesta would be less ZZZZZ and more shwing!
