You will need to wait for cascades.

Is that the ultimate extra ??? I'm hoping nvidia have some awesome demo stashed off somewhere especially for DX10...

I read on MSDN that there are DX10 demos in the DX10 SDK. I haven't downloaded it to try it out though so can't provide confimation of that.

I want these drivers to be running a bit better before I start looking at Directx 10 demos. While I am sure many of you would love them. I think having SLI support is probably a bit more important right now, at least to most of you.

Thats exactly it though, there's no DX10 benchmarks out there or even any games, the only ones I know off are test demos in the DX10 developer SDK which is like 400mb, even then I think they're just examples and aren't anything especially interesting.

All this moaning and complaining for a DX10 driver and theres still not even anything to run, even the Nvidia demos are in DX9 still.

I thought the 8800 demos are run under OpenGL ?? :)

The only Nvidia demo that is DX10 is cascades.

Froggy is OpenGL, Adrianne is DX9 I think...

As many said before, there are plenty of dx10 demos in the dx10 SDK.

All G80 launch party demos use extended OpenGL. Only "smoke in the box" is DX10.

If it really was dx10 why does it work in XP then?

Smoke works only on Vista. All other demos can run on XP. To clarify few facts:
1. DX10 feature set using DX10 programming interface works only on Vista
2. DX10 feature set using extended OpenGL programming interface works on Win2K/XP, Vista and Linux (soon).

Are you telling me that the smoke in the box demo I was using on xp, wasn't really smoke in the box?

Thats funny... Oh its a Ghost! it sounded like one of those tall tales..

no wonder people had trouble running it under XP DX9 i guess its really DX10

Smoke in the box is DX9 or OpenGL... It runs in XP for goodness sakes.

Yeah smoke even runs on my 6600GT. Slow as you know what, but it works.

Prime examples of perpetuating more Vista FUD. You held your ground though even in the most obvious of proof to the contrary.

Sigh... it's so hard to get straight facts about Vista.
