Will Windows Vists Ultimate Edition x64 support 7950 GX2 Quad SLI? Is there available out yet?

Not currently. There are no SLI drivers for Vista other than the 8800 SLI drivers at the moment.

Okay, do you know about how long it will be before the drivers could be available?

No one knows. All Nvidia said in the new driver release today was "SLI support coming for 7 series at a later date".

Why do you wanna use quad SLI in vista? There's no point in using vista for gaming whithout dx10 games.

Because I'm waiting for a refresh before I upgrade to the Direct X 10 series card. I'll sell my Quad SLI on ebay the second the cards are released and be forever happy.

According to the interview with HardOCP, no new drivers until the end of the month at the earliest.

Am I really gaining anything by having Quad SLI? Would I get almost the same performance with just using the one 7950 GX2? And no I'm not comparing this to the 8800 GTX just the single 7950 GX2 cause I might just sell the other card and keep the one.

I'm running Vista x64 and the drivers only use 1 GPU at the moment. I'm sure the drivers will come sooner or later, sooner would be better obviously.

I have to admit the way SLi motherboards and SLi have been promoted I am a little surprised SLi support is so weak at Vista's release.

Yes, when you consider Windows Vista has been in the beta stages for nearly 5 years before release date. This is why I didn't rush out and get the 8800 GTX.
After 5 years NVIDIA finally releases a SLI Beta driver. You would think NVIDIA had internal beta testers before they released such a weak ass driver. Everyone I know who's an NVIDIA fan boy is pissed off and
I can see why! I hope NVIDIA works double time to release 8 series owner's performance drivers for the WOW VISTA EXPERIENCE!!!!

Yes, they claim that on the box, and it's half true. Problem is, no drivers. SLI currently doesn't work with Vista. Only with 8800 SLI and the driver sucks right now.

Nvidia has said the SLI driver will be around late Feb, early March.

I would sell them 7950GX2 as soon as possible ,because when the next round of 8800 and 8600 cards comes out it is going to be harder and harder to sell them cards and get a decent price.

I'll be okay until the refresh. Even if both cards cover the cost to the new one.
