My XFX 6800XT has not been able to run Vista reliably; the intermittently goes blank for a few seconds and then comes back with a Windows message indicating that "Your video driver stopped responding..". It happened every time I tried to open a JPEG or watch video. I was advised to disable hardware acceleration via Windows display settings, and this helped greatly - the intermittent failures still happened, but far less frequently.
Now that 100.54 is here, I wanted to see if my situation is improved under newer drivers, but when I opened my Windows display settings, my hardware acceleration options were disabled.
So my question is: How the heck do I re-enable HW acceleration?
