why should it stop till the vista driver functionality matches that of XP?

(not after a performance match, or increase, just the same functionality)

people always find things to rant on internet... this is a fine example. :p

nvidia drivers of present works perfectly for me in vista 64bit. :) on vista launch, nvidia had a bit rocky start but things are a lot better with more goodies coming up in the future. that happened when xp launched, that goes to win2k, etc. what's new?

haha sorry to bump this thread, i just had to say this. :o

it may well seem to work perfectly for you, but that doesn't mean it's fine for other people.

my biggest problem with them only effects CRT users for a start, so that would mean a very large proportion of people using LCD screens would not notice, heck most of them wouldn't even know what a refresh rate was.

why shouldn't a consumer complain when something has significantly regressed?

Thanks for the post. We realize many people don't have problems. But, then again, some of us do. For example, I can't update my GPU's drivers from 162.22 upward because I get a black screen every single freaking time. I've tried dozens of methods; nothing. So I can't even use the new, 'updated', 'perfectly-working' drivers...

Nothing is special. We just want the drivers working perfectly for everyone, not just 75% (or whatever that number is). Sometimes, companies need a little motivation, especially when the competition isn't really giving any competition.

169.01 vista beta's fix EDID info on Iiyama hm903dt CRT, refresh rates up to 120hz up to 1600x1200, 100hz up to 1920x1200, 85hz above that :) (not sure about 170hz on 1360x768 being safe tho..?)
