It was the stock heatsink that came with the xp2700, had it been the slk-800 me foot would have been gone :D

I had a cat of mine knock a fop38 on my head by knocking it off the filing cabinet whilst I was lying on the floor trying to reach around my desk to fix some cabling. (He did it on purpose, I'm sure of it. :( )

LOL! You guys know I get more minor injuries from working on pcs than from anything else. Hopefully I don't slice off a finger w/ all the abuse my hands take, heh.

HAHAhaha, was that on purpose? Where I live we have pretty bad wiring, and a few times even with the pc off, but not the PSU, I was leaning on my case looking in and touch the wallheater...and got an electric shock, nothing big, just enought to scare the crap out of me :p

Working on a puter is like working on a truck. I always get cut knuckles from the sharp edges.

I would have let it cut through my foot..;)

XP2700 with a stock heatsink is not going to hit the floor..:p

Speaking of canned air, when they say hold it upright, they really mean it! I had it turned downwards to clean out my AGP slot and it almost froze the damn thing. Good thing it works, and it got the dust out too.

You know that when your body touches the heatsink that it lowers the heatsinks effectiveness?

I think my worst experience was when a friend turned on a PIII-based system just as I had my finger on the processor core (I thought it was dead, so I had just disconnected all the fans and the heatsink). That's the last time I'll ever leave a system plugged in to work on it, even for just a second. That really burned.

Haha, but I'd hate having to pay $5 more per processor just so they could label "warning, processor is hot while system is on" on their processors.

It could've have been worse...

About 5-7 years ago one night, I woke up early in the wee hours to piss. Took care of that and sat on the edge of the bed for a few puffing on a smoke in the dark with the "ashtray" in my lap. When I was done, I bent over the put the "ashtray" on the floor by the bed...and it slipped out of my fingers and landed right on my right foot.

Oh, did I mention that the "ashtray" was in reality a piston from a Cummins diesel?!?

Granted, it was only a 5-7 inch drop but it still sucked!! :afro:
