Hi!

So my Nforce3 Chipset-Drivers were included in vista but there´s still no Audio Driver for my Nforce3 onboard-sound available...
Can I use an Audio Codec or something? (AC97 or maybe Realtek drivers?)

P.S. Sorry for my English, i´m from Germany ;)

EDIT: k i just found out, that i have a Realtek ALC658 soundcard so next time i install Vista i will try the Realtek AC97 Beta Drivers.
They should work better than those Nforce4(RC1) beta drivers

yeah I think with nForce3 onboard sound you can use either the Realtek or Nvidia drivers if available. I don't use my onboard anymore but that's how it used to be.

yeah realtek has drivers.

still no love for soundmax on newer nforce sets though, good thing the xp drivers work.

One word of advice on the Realtek drivers...

I used them for a while and actually preferred them over the NForce Audio Drivers, however, the ONLY problem I had with them was in BF2. I could literally hear every sound on the map during battle, all at the same volume all at once. It was terrible! I now use the NForce Audio Drivers from NVidia's site. Just my 2 cents.
