Vista is a much nicer OS than WIndows XP, but it has some problems. This is to be expected from any OS. As a gamer, Vista is not installed on my main rig. I installed it on another computer and lost about 10-20% performance on most games. When new drivers come out, I'll probably upgrade my main rig as well. For now, Vista is definitely not for gamers. Still, it has lots of potential. Its stability is terrific.

Has anyone tried Republic Commando in Vista yet? Or has NV fixed that issue yet?

I thought Itunes wasn't working yet in Vista?
iTunes used to cause Aero to be disabled. As pretty much any skinned app did. But this was fixed after Beta 2. Buying and playing back bought music and iPod syncing all works fine too.

windows vista home premium (all working 100% perfectly)

Programs installed;

fraps

Is there anyway to get fraps to stop reading the fps of the desktop? Or do you just turn it off/ignore it?

I have v2.8.1 installed and its on default settings, nothing changed, but it doesn't read fps from the desktop. what version are you using?

If you come out of a game and Aero starts it will read the desktop FPS even with the latest version 2.8.2. Its humorous.

Can you see what temps you are running at using a 8800 series card ?

Thats about the only thing that gives me concern atm. I am thinking it will get to about ~70c ish without any fan speed control. I wounder what the operating temps of these cards are, min/max and what temp will cause the card to flake out.

Using a BFG 8800 gtx here.

Shoot if you guys are all running fine without fan control mybe I should just get off the stick and dive in.

I mostly play WoW which seems to play fine. I trired to do a clean install of WoW but kept getting a error durning the first big patch and it would stop. So I just copied the whole WoW folder off of my XP drive to the Vista drive and all worked fine.

Have yet to put my full selection of apps on Vista.

Hi,
everything's ok here with EVGA 680i and 8800 GTX.
I'm just disappointed with hard drive performances: I have 4 7200 disks in RAID 0 and I had disabled read cache in XP and got better performances.
I can't do the same thing in vista since the option to do this is gone.
In addition, probably the defragmentation process keeps working all the time, accessing the hard drive, and so it slow everything down.

What should I do?
