Not everyone upgraded to Vista for DX10, in fact anyone upgrading this early for DX10 is going to be very disapointed with the massive wait for anything substantial, DX10 cards will be much cheaper by the time we actually need them, much the same way as the whole FX series and shader 2.0 debacle.
The DX10 patch for Flight Sim X is supposed to be out by the end of March. I think there's also a DX10 patch for Company of Heroes(?) that's supposed to be released soon.
DX10 content could be here sooner than you think.

BS. If you own a 7950 GX2 you need SLI to work or you're screwed performance wise. Not everyone is upgrading to Vista for DX10, so no matter what point of view you take... Nvidia dropped the ball on this big time.
Why does it matter if you have a DX10 card? How many DX10 games do you own right now?
It doesn't matter "how many games I own." The G80's were built specifically for Direct X 10 gaming--it only makes sense that the Vista/DX10 drivers would take priority for them over anything that isn't DX10 capable.
It might not make sense to you guys from a performance standpoint that things are the way they are, but from a marketing standpoint it makes perfect sense. That's just the way it is.
The G80 was marketed as a DX10 part, and Nvidia cannot let it take back-seat to the GX2 or anything else. I think they're going about it the exact way they should. I would say the same thing if I owned a GX2 or my old 7900GTX.

yeah, a few bolt ons
SLP lid w/ Balckwing air filter
SLP Longtube Headers
SLP cats and Y pipe
85mm MAF
Sub frame connectors
strut bar
had a set of stikies, but made my stupid S10 rear end squeall (really, why did GM put S10 rear ends on a 300+ hp car??)
3.73 gears
its an A4, but plan to get it stalled
and believe it or not, I still have my factory exhaust with SLp headers, but it should arrive this weak (loudmouth)
Sweet! I have an A4 with 3.42s, 12-bolt, fully bolted and running a 228/225 .588/.569 113LSA cam. Car has gone 11.88 @ 113.50 but I expect more out of it. The tranny is on its last legs. It bangs the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift on launch HARD. So, once the tranny is rebuilt this spring and I put Dart ported LS6 heads on the car, I figure I could see 11.50s or better. :D

It's likely that we'll see DX10 patches for FSX before long and maybe some other games, but that's hardly anything worth worrying about. First of all we're probably look at least another month or so before we see ANYTHING DX10, and secondly even when we do, the chances are a lot of the 8800 users wont actually have those games.
In the long run, if we're not going to see DX10 software until at least march, it would have made mose sense to do 6 and 7 range SLI support in feb and then done DX10 support in March.
That way SLI users get support earlier but DX10 users still have support before any media is available.
Hmmm...the R600 will be out around March. I wonder what my next move will be...
Correction: the R600 will be paper launched in March, available in April/May and already replaced in August/September.
I also wonder what your next move will be ...

Pretty well answers the SLI question.
Gotta say boo hooo... Vista has been in RC status for 6+ months....
Then again who really expects perfect drivers on a new OS? This is why I still dual boot between XP and Vista.
