yeah, i was reading through them. thats how i figured out that hughes was a better option than the wild blue, but i know the latency is gonna be a drag. i wish there was a way to use cellular similar to that kyocera, but not on the edvo network.
AFAIK that Kyocera evdo router will work with 1xRTT too. If not just build out a Linux or XP machine and have it be your router; it's easy ;)

now that is very interesting. hmm.. i checked out hughes, and im not in the mood for fork out $500 for install, since in my area i dont qualify for the $99 promotion. so, its wild blue or nothing. wild blue has a better FAP, and its cheaper. but ive seen mixed reviews of it. still debating that kyocera thing. that would be ideal i suppose

okay, so i read some stuff and it seems that 1xrtt is okay for guild wars. hmm.. i might go this route. i'd need the router, and then a pc card from verizon. also, just south of mem they rolled out EVDO, which is supposed to mopve north in the next few months. im gona talk to my verizon rep for my company and seer what we can work out

i will be online later this evening:) i cant wait
well, from what i understand, the wild blue pings are in the 1600 ms range. hughesmet is in the 700ms to 1200ms range, which is fine for guild wars.
If you want to PvP, ping is of utter importance. I used to play Guildwars on satellite with an average ping of stable 700 ms. Playing PvE with a 700 ping is no big deal but on PvP its unacceptable ;)

Who was your provider, those had to have been LEO satellites to have an RTT of 700ms? Here in the US we're only able to get HEO satellites with an average RTT of 1200 to 2000ms.

Irish Provider called Ildana, they went bankrupt even with government grants and now im using the connection for free for the last year :D
Google is an average 687 ping. I'm not sure which satellite they use.
