I forced vista to use the codec as a default but it still wont come up with power dvd 7. ( i know cause the icon isn't on the toolbar ) i could care less but my REAL QUESTION is if i decide to watch dvds using media center in vista or using media player 11 in vista which will have better playback quality and why. thanks once again last question for a while i promise.

PowerDVD 7 has the nvidia decoder built-in, therefor you won't see the icon appear like you would when using WMP11, which doesn't really need it, but if you have it installed it will show. As for which has better image quality, I can't really say, because I don't have Vista. However, just on a hunch, I'd say Media Center. I also don't use the NVidia decoder any more, I think it's crap. I strictly use PowerDVD 7.

Any Vista users input?
