Can the CORSAIR Dominator 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory run on the ASUS Striker Extreme LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i at the full 1066MHz? The board's memory only goes up to 800MHz should I buy a lower speed that's 800Hhz or would I be able to adjust the timing of the Corsair Dominator in the system bios to peak at 1066MHz without overlcoking or stressing the motherboard? Alot of replies or comments would be highly appreciated since I'm going to place my order on Monday with Newegg.com :D

It sure can! In fact my Corsair Dominator PC-9136 DDR2 1142MHz really run at that speed. Some of the latest BIOS revisions help with these memory speeds.:D

Yes, it can. You can either maually overclock it to run at rated specs or enable SLI ready memory (disabled by default) and choose cpuocmax in BIOS which will automatically set the timings, voltage and speed to the rated specs.

Sweet! So do you guys think running the 2GB of ram will do the trick with Windows Vista Ultimate x64? It will be later in the year when I upgrade to the second EVGA 8800 GTX KO and another 2GB of ram to make it 4GB.

Quick Question? So do you guys think running the 2GB of ram will do the trick with Windows Vista Ultimate x64 for now? Will I be moving slow with only 2GB of this blazzing fast memory? Hearing that Vista is a huge memory hog? What do you think?

So the ASUS Striker 680i SLI can run a full 1066 on the memory, can it do it on a 1:1 2132 or 533 on the buss.I have not seen any 680i board that will do 2000.
