Well, its like this:

I have two laptops which I would like to connect together for gaming and sharing. I have an rj45(crossed or whatever you say in english).

The thing is, I managed to get the two to share files, but I still have the annoying icon which says "limited or no connectivity"....

What do I need to do to make this work right?

Can't you hook them up to your router, either wired or wirelessly?

First tell us the steps you took, exactly

I hooked up the both laptops with the cable, than made a new connection-new home network, called it by name, and managed to share files. Still have that damned no connectivity issue though...

Force it by manually assigning IP addresses. 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2

Right click Network Place - Properties - Rightclick Area connection - Prop. - TCP/IP and assign the address.

That's what I was gonna suggest Capt. Kirk.

Will check now.

Ok, annoying no connectivity is gone. Now, how do I play lan games... For example, lan in total annihilation?
Or the game doesnt support this kind of lan? I tried playing warcraft 3, but it wont let either pc join the other game - although it finds the game...
