View Full Version : Cant install xp/Vista

i have a wd raptor 150 Sata and a brand new Seagate 7200.10 320gb Sata and i cant install a xp or vista on them, im not running raid. when i boot on the xp or vista cd/dvd it ses the disks and installs fine but when it reboots and continues the install it says " Error loading os"
Things i have done:
2 diffrent Motherboards
made a ghost of installed xp tho the WD. samme error.
Slow format of drives.


i have a other disks and there is no problems whit them.
All Sata disks

You need the SATA drivers not the SATA RAID drivers they are on the disk but DO not install the RAID drivers just the standard SATA drivers

Do you men the WD sata driver or Nvidia Sata driver??

Maybe the drives are defective or dieing.

If you used other drives and those work fine, then thats the most likely answer.

I guess its possible that the SATA cables could be bad too. Make sure to test all the drives with different cables just in case.

Try change HDD access mode from Auto to Large in BIOS. I ran into this problem with a 250 SATA in my old rig, changing access mode fixed it.
