I used the xp driver off the creative website and install it via device manager.I now have SB Live24-bit,and a SB Live! Value working under Vista.I use the SBLive-24bit for tuunnz, and the SBLive Value for games.
1) Run the livedriverupdate package, this will unpack the driver to USER/Appdata/Local/Temp,do not close warning window.
2)Goto Device manager, look for unknown audio device or multimedia controller with no drivers installed.
3)Click update driver and point to User/appdata/local/temp
4)Install driver and reboot, you should have sound now.
The only 2 games I have installed on Vista are Q4 and Battlestations Midway,Q4 works awesome with either card but BM takes a huge performance hit using the SB-24bit,whereas if I use the SB-Value no performance hit.The 24-bit beta drivers seem to be at fault.
