Probably a stupid question - as I guess everyone is in the dark as much as me, but worth a shot. After reading that Nvidia is moving to monthly driver releases - and the new WHQL driver should be appearing towards the end of feb, i'm just wondering if anyone has a release date (rumour or otherwise) on it? being that it is Feb 13 now...

Possibility we may get a beta leak before then. They'd better damn have DV on 8800's next release.

is there a lot wrong with the XP ones atm? (in terms of 7 series cards?) i'm thinking about buying another HDD and dual booting so i can play supreme commander (the demo ran pretty crappy for me on vista) when it comes out if the next drivers aren't up to scratch.

The 7 series currently has fairly solid XP drivers. Under Vista I noticed some bugs in some budget games like Lemmings Revolution and Pac Man World 3 (girl's machine). XP, however, is pretty damn good for the 7 series.

Vista ain't even too bad on the 7900's, at least for those of us not doing SLI yet, I'm holding off on considering a DX10 card until the vista situation settles down some though.

Both exhibited a drop in performance on various games and both have a control panel that's almost useless. But I didn't have any problems more serious than that on either card, all my games run just fine (some without AA+AF admittedly, thanks to the broken CP).

Latest driver seems to be doing fine for me. It's great to know we're going to expect other driver soon. :)

I think those of us with 79050GX2's and other SLI users are the ones that will most be of benefit from up and coming vista drivers as we are more or less not supported at all.

As far as I can tell the next driver update will be at the end of Feb, and thats for fully WHQL certified drivers, there wont be many significant changes in these drivers.

Then March is for 7xxx and 6xxx SLI drivers, I suspect thats going to be near the end of march, so probably ~45 days away.

They went to a monthly release schedule similar to ATi/AMD. So, end of the month. I'll be waiting until March because I have a 7800 GTX. :thumbdwn:

sounds about right. thanks. i think i'll go buy that new HDD today and set up XP just for games. Leave vista on the other hdd for everything else and re-evaluate when the driver arives.
