The problem is due to Java loading. If you can bear to live without Java, which most of us can't, you can avoid that issue. I've had it on and off. If you update to the newest version of Java you might resolve your issue.

I submitted 3 bug reports with this driver.
1. Republic Commando crashes when starting a new game
2. Texture corruption in Silent Storm when setting the video quality to Very High
3. Texture corruption anywhere and everywhere in Red Faction
#1 has been an issue since the release of the 8800 its a known issue and Nvidia has been "working" on a fix since the 8800 was released.

Do you get any kind of boost running it in compatability mode.
I heard it was working much better now but it's still not up to par just yet...
Thanks! But what does that mean exactly :o ? My problems were : black and white output and no fullscreen playback of videos on tv.
If anyone could clarify this for me i would be grateful.
Thanks again!
What about vsync? does it work, if you force it thru control panel in games that dont have vsync option?

Vsync is still broken.

100.64 fixes media center live tv & recording playback under vista ultimate 32-bit. 64-bit is still bugged with stuttering using 100.64 for live tv & recording with media center. Nothing has changed :(
Using 8800 GTS & Hauppauge PVR-500.

Well same problem with these as the 59's. My 7900 GT KO get the error startup code 43 and the drivers never fully install. I am stuck at 100.54... Just hope they can make my SLI work for the 7 series.
Well, this driver has solved problems with Media Center windowed and Nvidia Control Panal load.
I'm using Vista x64 but still can't put computer to sleep or hibernate.
Are you with x64 experiencing the same problem?

I gonna wait till the WHQL later this month :)
- New features normally in March
- Performance improvements and more bugfixes in April
I have no problems with the 100.59-driverset, not even in FPS-games
I run HL2, Quake 4, BF2142 on very high
So I don't know what problems u all talk about :)

single 7900gt, dv works for me until i reboot. ut2004 performance up a little, call of duty is too dark and can't adjust the brightness, cod2 seems ok for the most part. desktop is all messed up when exiting opengl games (doom3 and cod) even if the game resolution matches the desktop res. the only game that works ok with opengl that i've tried so far is unreal tournament.

I would really really really like to have vsync working. Playing slightly older games that have the framerate fly well over 100 can play havok with gameplay speed. I tried playing Freedom Fighters last night and couldn't get certain things to work properly because the game was going too fast. Vsync is stuck at application preference, so with games without a vsync option there is nothing you can do. Not to mention a game like FEAR that has several light and dark areas. Going from a dark area to a light area results in tear screen city. It's so bad I don't want to play it. There has to be a registry setting that can be changed to force this on. Anyone know how to?
So I don't know what problems u all talk about
Well for starters...Galactic Civilizations 2 will not run at all under any vista drivers before this latest release. Now I can finally run the game and play it...yay!

 so losing 20% just going from XP to Vista aint a problem for you? Geez, what a stupid post.

The Vista drivers have their problems, but there's a lot of underload on high end systems, so the performance loss isn't that obvious. No matter what benchmarks say, my system works fine right now. And in some games, there is not actual difference. In FEAR, I keep reading about all these problems, yet I haven't experienced them. Supreme Commander plays fine as well, no discernable performance decrease as far as I can tell.
I'm sticking with Vista.
I'm sticking with Vista as well. Staying with XP (if you have purchased Vista) imo sends the wrong message. If Nvidia just assumes that most people who are experiencing issues, are frustrated or just generally malcontent with Vista will retain their XP install...then what incentive do they have for fixing things in a timely fashion?
They need to see the posts about issues we are having so that it is in their face at all times...in other words the gun has to be to their heads or it'll be summer and "our" drivers will still be *ss.
For me 100.64 was a step in the right direction, thanks to STardock putting the pressure on Nvidia and finally being able to play GalCiv 2...

It's also not like the game isn't available in stores anymore. The game is still being sold in stores and is now part of the Star Wars Best of PC set. I bought the best of PC set a few days ago just because Republic Commando was in it. I can't even play it now.
