Still no DV on 8800s. Hopefully the control panel will at least remember my settings.

WinXP 97.92: 90fps
Vista32 100.64: 58 fps

HL2:Lost Coast 2048x1536 4xAA/16xAF
WinXP 97.92 : 164 fps
Vista32 100.64: 68 fps

Farcry 2048x1536 4xAA/16xAF
Training Timedemo:
WinXP 97.92 : 130 fps

The page is up again, I've just installed them and it still doesn't recognise the 320 GTS properly. Vista still says 256mb Vram. Hopefully its actually using the full amount.

I`ll just ask again, since the other thread is locked.

Could someone please test if tv-out works properly? Especially full-screen playback of video files on the tv?

If this works iŽll be installing vista tomorrow, if not well then iŽll have to wait...

Cheers. Reading the log it doesnt change an awful lot to be fair, so dont expect a performance panacea from this release ;)

Is anybody else with an 8800GTX experiencing the problem of the control panel not saving any of the gamma adjustment settings upon restart? It is really starting to annoy me.

I am having that issue and more with the cp. I'm running the 7900gt though.

Uninstalled it and went back to wdm for now.

This seems to be a pretty good indication that real progress on these drivers is incredibly slow.

I heard it was working much better now but it's still not up to par just yet...

I have this problem (http://home.cinci.rr.com/adamk47/problem.jpg) with the drivers. Anyone else?

ATI D3D performance is way way higher than Nvidia, but Nvidia's OpenGL performance is way way higher. Not to say Nvidia OpenGL performance is anywhere near XP anyway.

Arg I can see my copy of Vista will be sitting in my cupboard not installed for months at this rate (I bought it launch day cos I wanted to believe it would be usable as primary OS on launch day for us enthusiasts.. starting to think I should have not bought it at all now and waited 6 months). I couldnt help think that way as I've been following its development closely since 2002, and I thought by the amount of delays and setbacks that when its out it will be good for everything. Bad thought. Even though Vista took 3x as long to develop as XP, it still has similar launch issues XP had.

Really at this point it looks as though the only similar-to-xp experience is if you're running ATI card in D3D games.

One thing they fixed is that Vista MCE runs great windowed now.

Well, one thing is for sure, IQ in these is way ahead of the .59s, performance is still slow though.

These have at least taken care of all the recovery errors when using Dreamscene and NWN2 seems to run a little better. Good start

I'm getting that message sporadically now too. Once with the .59, once with these.

http://img477.imageshack.us/img477/8519/untitledwz2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)For what its worth i have been getting the same error with the 97.46 drivers, doesnt seem that any NV driver is stable with Vista, I had to reinstall twice now, and only having 3 days to reactivate bites because thats not long enough time to trouble shoot whats wrong, so I end up reactivating only to have the stablity get so bad i have to reinstall:banghead:

I submitted 3 bug reports with this driver.

1. Republic Commando crashes when starting a new game
2. Texture corruption in Silent Storm when setting the video quality to Very High
3. Texture corruption anywhere and everywhere in Red Faction

Does it work with ntune?

No difference for me from the 100.59's.
Identical scores in F.E.A.R. with both of them:

Everything @ stock speeds
1600 x 1200 4xAA 16xAF
all settings maxed(except soft shadows off)

Minimum: 21fps
Average: 54fps
Maximum: 116fps

1% under 25fps
35% 25fps - 40fps
64% above 40fps

Feel sorry for everyone having so many problems with this game...runs smooth as silk for me
