http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37610
My question is, Will we be able to unlock our 8800GTX Shaders through bios flashing?
I Bloody well hope so, I just spent $800 on a 8800GTX XXX (Prices here in th UK are very high). Can anyone put my mind at ease?

I wonder how they will manage to do this. They got no room on the die anymore. Hell they had to outsource a chip allready to get it all on the G80 as it is.
Are we talking about 160 SP's on the 8900 ?
I just wish they'd take a break for a year or so. I don't know, it just annoys the sh!t out of me that they release a new card like every few months or so.

I really like that actually. As more and more cards come out and newer and better ones the old ones go down in price and more and mroe people are able to afford them.

If this is true, then I'll be going dual 8900GTXs on my next build.
I have until March 27th on my step-up  Please hurry NVIDIA lol.

eBay current card, buy new one, then repeat...
Thats the cycle I'm on now.
By spending $50-$100 per upgrade every 6 months I'll always have the fastest video card but I'll never have to shell out $600 again. :p

I am just going to utilize the fry's electronics free 30 day rental program next week, and by the time the 30 days is up I'll see how the prices look.

What do you think an AGP 6800GT would fetch on the bay?

I sold mine in November for $200. :)
It was a BFG OC model.
Obviously, the best thing to do is research it. Go look at the completed auctions and see what kind of high and low prices the cards are going for. Start it somewhere in the middle (people will buy it if its reasonably priced, don't rip yourself off just to guarantee a sale). Never use a reserve, and set a buy it now of just over what most people are selling them for.

If the 8900xxx comes out, I'm sure the 8800xxx's prices will go down. Then I surely can afford one for myself!
